1. What We Collect

When you use M2X Analytics, we collect:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and hashed password
• Uploaded files: Wind instrument log files you upload (B&G CSV, NMEA, VKX, etc.)
• Parsed data: Wind speed, direction, GPS position, heading, and other instrument readings extracted from your files
• Generated reports: Analysis results, statistics, and classifications produced from your data
• Usage data: Basic analytics about how you interact with the Service (page views, feature usage)

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data may be used to:

• Parse and analyze your wind instrument files
• Generate reports and visualizations for your use
• Store your data so you can access it across sessions
• Improve the Service's parsing accuracy, classifications, analytics, and product quality
• Develop, test, validate, and launch future M2X products, features, workflows, and data services
• Create aggregated, generalized, or de-identified insights that help us improve our products and product roadmap

We may review uploaded files and derived outputs internally for debugging, support, quality assurance, research and development, and feature improvement.

3. Data Privacy & Isolation

Your uploads are private by default. No other user can see your files, data, or reports unless you explicitly share them via a share link.

We implement strict per-user data isolation. All database queries are filtered by your user ID. Even our internal tools enforce ownership boundaries.

4. What We Don't Do

• We never sell your data to third parties
• We never share your data with advertisers
• We never provide your raw data to third parties for their independent product development without your permission

5. Data Storage

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on secure, encrypted infrastructure. Raw uploaded files are stored alongside parsed data so you can always re-download or re-process your original files.

We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete an upload, the associated data is permanently removed from active systems. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days, subject to backup retention, security logging, and legal compliance requirements.

7. Sharing

When you share a report link, the recipient can view the report summary and statistics. You control sharing settings including whether the link is public or requires authentication.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (session tokens). We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

9. Your Rights (CCPA / GDPR)

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data we hold about you
• Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export: Download your original uploaded files
• Correct: Update your account information

10. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post notice of significant changes on the Service.
